Therapy Coordinator
Job Qualifications
Individuals qualified to fill this position will have a Master's Degree in Social Work or other related field and must currently hold a license (or provisional license) as a mental health practitioner in the State of Nebraska. The duties of the Therapy Coordinator are assigned by the Chief Operating Officer and may include but are not limited to the following:
- Delegate necessary tasks to the supervisory staff.
- Cover for any program employees as necessary.
- Maintain licensing with the appropriate entities (State of Nebraska) and compliance with Nebraska Medicaid, as well as with other funding sources (Medicare, third party insurance, etc.) as necessary.
- Obtain and maintain contract information for relaying information to staff and keeping contracts/Medicaid numbers current at all times.
- Obtain and retain necessary knowledge from the Nebraska Medicaid Mental Health and Substance Abuse handbook (Chapter 32).
- Enforce all therapist job descriptions and Visinet, Inc.'s Employee Manual.
- Problem solve crisis issues in a effective and efficient manner.
- Participate in the interview process and implement creative recruiting techniques to keep program at the highest level of quality at all times.
- Complete the necessary documentation for new therapists to become eligible as service providers with Nebraska Medicaid, Medicare, Managed Care, etc.
- Participate in the termination process of employees.
- Collaborate with the Clinical Director on all clinical issues related to client and the clinical service provision performed by staff.
- Coordinate training of employees with Clinical Director and provide monthly in-services to therapists.
- Assess appropriateness of on-going service training and modify curriculum when necessary.
- Enforce accountability among therapists and adherence to the Employee Manual, as well as following the emergency protocol for suicide/homicide, abuse/neglect or other potential safety concerns.
- Communicate needs of clients to the consulting psychiatrist as well as assisting with the documentation necessary to schedule new and on-going patients with the consulting psychiatrist.
- Ensure therapists are maintaining the clinically appropriate guidelines with their clients at all times.
- Conduct Medicaid eligibility checks on all clients at the beginning of every month.
- Complete 8 hours of Mandt training
- Complete CPR training or recertification for CPR training.
The average starting salary for this position is $34,000. Additional compensation may be applicable based upon educational and professional experience. Full-time employees are eligible for benefits as outlined in the Employee Manual.
