Job Qualifications
This service requires that candidates have a mental health license(or provisional license) in the State of Nebraska. Additionally, the therapist must be an authorized Medicaid and Magellan Behavioral Health provider. Must be available to work three weeknights and six hours on the weekend.
This position has the responsibility of carrying out all duties assigned by the Therapy Coordinator. The service requires therapists with a wide range of experience to assist clients in an individual, family or a group setting. In addition to the expectations outlined in the Employee Manual job duties include the following:
- Contact all parties within twenty-four (24) hours after receiving a new referral.
- Collaborate with clients, foster parents, etc. in coordinating a consistent weekly therapy schedule between children and family members identified on the referral.
- Complete a New Client Intake (NCI) or Pre-Treatment Assessment (PTA) within the first two sessions of meeting with a new client/family.
- Develop a concrete treatment plan within two weeks after the completion of the mental status exam.
- Remain within the guidelines of the referral at all times, as well as, within the required authorization period and number of hours allocated to the client/family; review trackers given by the therapy coordinator on a consistent basis.
- Obtain authorizations for the services provided (individual therapy, family therapy, mileage authorizations, care conferences, etc.) from the respective funding sources.
- Obtain reauthorizations as necessary to eliminate the possibility of a lapse in services for the client(s).
- Implement and utilize resources during sessions as deemed appropriate by the clinical director and the treatment team.
- Maintain a strengths based approach while working with client(s) and families to assist in the retention of dignity and the development of positive intrinsic qualities.
- Provide the most effective treatment interventions to all clients as determined by the therapist and clinical director.
- Complete referrals for other levels of care (Community Treatment Aide, Psychiatric Evaluations, Treatment Foster Care, etc.) as deemed clinically appropriate by the treatment team or the clinical director. Follow up and coordinate with these entities to ascertain that the client is receiving the most appropriate level of care.
- Adhere to the emergency protocol (found in the Employee Manual) in the event that a client or individual associated with the client discloses abuse/neglect information.
- Maintain appropriate boundaries and confidentiality with client(s) and families, as well as with all team members involved in a particular case.
- Adhere to the strict confidentiality policies indicated in the Employee Manual, as well as all of the other policies and procedures.
- Maintain Mental Health Practitioner License during the course of employment with Visinet, Inc.
- Participate in semi-annual internal chart audits as requested by the clinical director and therapy coordinator
- Complete 12 hours of Mandt training
- Complete CPR training or recertification for CPR training.
- Familiarize self with the various funding contracts associated with the provision of services (i.e. Chapter 32 of the Nebraska Medicaid Handbook).
Pay and Benefits
The beginning pay rate for this position is $22.00/hour plus indirect compensation for a provisionally licensed therapist. For a licensed mental health practitioner, the starting pay rate is $24.50 plus indirect compensation. Additional compensation may be applicable based upon educational and professional experience.
