Definition
The goal of Supervised Visitation services is to observe and objectively report the interaction between youth and identified family members.
The Visitation Specialist will not provide educational assistance during these visitation sessions.
The Visitation Specialist may redirect for up to two consecutive sessions at which time a service assessment will be completed to refer to family support. A notice of discharge will be provided to the referral source with a seven (7) day notice stating that Visinet, Inc. will only continue work with the family under a family support referral. Redirections may include but are not limited to the following: inappropriate parenting, safety concerns, children are out of instructional control, etc. Service assessments will be completed on all supervised visitation cases within 15-business days after acceptance of the referral.
Unless specified by the case manager the visitation session will be 100% supervised.
How do I access services?
Formal acceptance of a case requires the completion of a referral, a current authorization and all of the collateral documentation as explained by the State Services Coordinator.
What are the criteria?
The family or youth must be currently involved with Nebraska Health and Human Services (NHHS), Integrated Care Coordination Unit (ICCU) or with the Region.
Payment?
Services can begin once a service referral with an accompanied authorization is sent to the Visinet, Inc. office containing valid dates of service and incompliance with the guidelines set forth in the NHHS Supervised Visitation contract.
Private pay referrals will be accepted for this service if availability of staff permits. Inquiries should be made by contacting the State Services Coordinator.
