Intensive Family Preservation (IFP) Therapist
Job Qualifications
An IFP Therapist with Visinet, Inc. must possess a current mental health practitioner license (or provisional license) in the State of Nebraska with at least 2 years of experience working with at risk families. Must be available to work work three weeknights and six hours on the weekend. Individuals will be assigned tasks by the IFP Coordinator which may include but are not limited to the following:
- Awareness of the IFP contract to ascertain that the appropriate service/phase is being provided to the family at all times.
- Contact all parties within twenty-four to forty-eight (24-48) hours after receiving a new referral.
- Collaborate with clients and parents/caretakers in coordinating a consistent weekly schedule between children and family members identified on the referral.
- Establish a working relationship and rapport with IFP clients/families.
- Coordinate with IFP Skill builder in the identification of goals, objectives, skills and support interventions to be followed from the IFP master treatment plan.
- Assist the client/family in obtaining the identified goals.
- Provide planned interventions (teaching, coaching, practicing, role-playing, affirmation, etc.) based on the IFP master treatment plan.
- Identify prognosis for families successful completion of treatment goals and objectives; provide service plan to the client families for review and acknowledgement; formulate discharge criteria and plan upon completion of treatment; and initiate an aftercare plan according to the aforementioned projections.
- Transport the children and adults (only) identified on a respective referral only as part of a scheduled session.
- Remain within the guidelines of the referral at all times, as well as within the required phase and number of hours allocated to the client/family.
- Implement and utilize resources during sessions which relate to the identified goals on the client/family master treatment plan.
- Maintain a sixty/forty percent (60-40%) split between direct contact hours and any additional hours.
- Maintain a strengths-based approach while working with client families to assist in the retention of dignity and the development of positive intrinsic qualities.
- Adhere to the emergency protocol (found in the Employee Manual) in the event that a client or an individual associated with the client discloses abuse/neglect information.
- Maintain appropriate boundaries and confidentiality with client families as well as with all team members involved in a particular case.
- Complete 12 hours of Mandt training
- Complete CPR training or recertification for CPR training.
- Adhere to the strict confidentiality policies indicated in the Employee Manual as well as all of the other policies and procedures.
The average starting salary for the IFP Therapist Position is $31,000. Additional compensation may be applicable based upon educational and professional experience. Full-time employees are eligible for benefits as outlined in the Employee Manual.
