Intensive Family Preservation (IFP) Skillbuilder
Job Qualifications
An individual hired as an IFP Skill builder will possess a bachelor's degree in social work or a related field or at least 3 years experience working with at risk children and families. Must be available to work work three weeknights and six hours on the weekend. The IFP Coordinator will direct the duties of the therapist and skill builder who will work collaboratively. Skill builder duties may include but are not limited to the following:
- Remain cognizant of the IFP contract to ascertain that the appropriate service/phase is being provided to the family at all times.
- Contact all parties within twenty-four to forty-eight (24-48) hours after receiving a new referral.
- Collaborate with clients and parents/caretakers in coordinating a consistent weekly schedule between children) and family members identified on the referral.
- Establish a working relationship and rapport with IFP clients and families.
- Assist IFP Therapist in the identification of goals, objectives, skills and support interventions to be followed from the IFP master treatment plan.
- Assist the client/family in obtaining identified goals.
- Provide planned skill and support interventions (teaching, coaching, practicing, role-modeling, affirmation, etc.) based on the IFP master treatment plan.
- Transport children and adults (only) identified on a respective referral and only as part of a scheduled session.
- Remain within the guidelines of the referral at all times, as well as within the required phase and number of hours allocated to the client/family.
- Implement and utilize resources which relate to the identified treatment plan goals during ALL sessions.
- Maintain a sixty/forty percent (60-40%) split between direct contact hours and any additional hours.
- Maintain a strengths-based approach while working with client families to assist in the retention of dignity and the development of positive intrinsic qualities.
- Adhere to the emergency protocol (found in the Employee Manual) in the even that a client or individual associated with the client discloses abuse/neglect information.
- Maintain appropriate boundaries and confidentiality with client families as well as with all team members involved in a particular case.
- Adhere to the strict confidentiality policies indicated in the Employee Manual as well as all of the other policies and procedures.
- Consult and coordinate with IFP therapist and other skill builders for planned interventions with families.
- Complete 12 hours of Mandt training
- Complete CPR training or recertification for CPR training.
The average starting rate for this position is $12.50/hr. Additional compensation may be applicable based upon educational and professional experience. Full-time employees are eligible for benefits as outlined in the Employee Manual.
