Treatment Foster Care/Agency Based Foster Care Supervisor
Job Qualifications
A candidate qualified for the Treatment Foster Care Supervisor position will have acquired a Master's Degree in Social Work or a related field and posses a Mental Health Practitioner license in the State of Nebraska. A candidate qualified for the Agency Based Foster Care Supervisor position will have acquired a bachelor's degree in Social Work or a related field with experience working with at risk families. Individuals in this position will complete duties as assigned by the Treatment Foster Care Coordinator including but not limited to the following:
- Obtain initial authorizations and on-going reauthorizations for all clients on assigned caseload.
- Assigned a caseload of approximately twelve to sixteen (12-16) TFC level children or twenty five (25) ABFC children.
- Maintain face to fact contact with Foster Care parents as set forth by the Foster Care Coordinator.
- Collaborate with clients and parents/caretakers in coordinating consistent schedules between the children and the foster family.
- Work with the Foster Care family on transition issues for which a child is transitioning to a different home or back to the biological home or to any other placement.
- Establish a working relationship and rapport with the Foster Care clients and families.
- Assist in maintaining the Foster Care child in his/her home.
- Assist the foster parent with learning and implementing appropriate strategies to assist the child(ren) in making the outlined progress toward the goals and objectives on their individualized treatment plan.
- Assist, with the supervision of the Foster Care Specialist, foster parents in completing additional documentation such as medication logs, clothing inventories and incident reports.
- Provide support to the Foster Care parent in collaboration with the Foster Care Specialist.
- Assist in setting up respite for the Foster Care parents.
- Assist in moving children to new foster homes if disruption occurs and assist the foster parent and child in acclimating to the changes.
- Supervise two to six (2-6) Foster Care Specialists on a case by case basis.
- Provide on-going supervision of the daily activities, documentation and service provision of the Foster Care Specialist to the children and families.
- Coordinate with Foster Care Specialist in the identification of goals, objectives, skills and support interventions to be followed from the Foster Care individualized treatment plan.
- Direct the activities of the Foster Care Specialist so they accurately reflect progress toward the goals and objectives on the treatment plan.
- Assist the client/family in obtaining the identified goals.
- Provide planned interventions (teaching, coaching, practicing, role-playing, affirmation, etc.) based on the Foster Care individualize treatment/service plan.
- Maintain a strengths-based approach while working with clients and families to assist in the retention of dignity and the development of positive intrinsic qualities.
- Adhere to the emergency protocol (found in the Employee Manual) in the event that a client or individual associated with the family discloses abuse/neglect information.
- Maintain appropriate boundaries and confidentiality with clients and families as well as with all team members involved in a particular case.
- Complete 12 hours of Mandt training
- Complete CPR training or recertification for CPR training.
- Adhere to the strict confidentiality policies indicated in the Employee Manual as well as all of the other policies and procedures.
The average starting salary for this position is $27,000 for bachelor's and $30,000 for master's. Additional compensation may be applicable based upon educational and professional experience. Full-time employees are eligible for benefits as outlined in the Employee Manual.
