Family Support Worker (FSW)
Job Qualifications
According to the Nebraska Health and Human Services, candidates must have a minimum of two years of college credit in social work or a related field, or have two years of related human service experience. Must be available to work work three weeknights and six hours on the weekend. In addition, the candidate must complete Visinet, Inc. Foundation and Program Specific Training.
This position has the responsibility of carrying out all duties assigned by the State Services Coordinator and Director of Operations. The following are the primary responsibilites of the FSW position:
- Contact all parties within twenty-four (24) hours after receiving a new referral.
- Collaborate with clients and foster parents in coordinating a consistent weekly schedule between the child(ren) and family member(s) identified on the referral.
- Transport children (only) identified on a respective referral from their placement(s) to the session location.
- Assist the client/family in obtaining the goals identified by the referral source and illustrated on the case plans (referrals).
- Remain within the guidelines of the referral at all times, as well as within the required authorization period and number of hours allocated to the client/family.
- Implement and utilize resources during all family support, crisis intervention and goal-based visitation sessions which relate to the identified goals on eh client/family case plan.
- Maintain a strengths-based approach while working with the client(s) and families to assist in the retention of dignity and the development of positive intrinsic qualities.
- Adhere to the emergency protocol (found in the Employee Manual) in the even that a client or individual associated with the client discloses abuse/neglect information.
- Complete 12 hours of Mandt training
- Complete CPR training or recertification for CPR training.
- Maintain appropriate boundaries and confidentiality with client(s) and families as well as with all team members involved on a particular case.
- Adhere to the strict confidentiality policies indicated in the Employee Manual, as well as all of the other policies and procedures.
The average starting pay rate for this position is $11.00/hour. Additional compensation may be applicable based upon educational and professional experience. The benefits for this position are outlined in the Employee Manual.
