Escort/Transportation Specialist
According to the Nebraska Health and Human Services, candidates must have a minimum of two years of college credit in social work or a related field, or have two years of related human service experience. Must be available to work work three weeknights and six hours on the weekend. In addition, the candidate must complete Visinet, Inc. Foundation and Program Specific Training.
- Attend semi-monthly (or more frequent depending on the request of the supervisor) meetings with supervisor to provide case updates, address changes and turn in completed documentation.
- Attend twelve (12) ongoing education/in-service hours per year or one (1) per month if employment begins beyond the start of the calendar year.
- Responsible for checking mailbox weekly.
- Complete all documentation within forty-eight (48) hours of conducting the session.
- Complete time sheets (accurately) for each case and turn in on the respective billing days as indicated in the Employee Manual.
- Complete pertinent incident reports and provide to the Escort Supervisor within twenty-four (24) hours of the incident.
- Record mileage during transports in the appropriate format and on the correct document.
- Part-Time escort staff must maintain the availability of two (2) weekdays 7:00am to 10:00am and three (3) weekdays 2:30pm to 8:00pm; Full-Time escort staff must maintain the availability of four (4) weekdays from 7:00am to 10:00am and 2:30pm to 8:00pm.
- Contact all parties within twenty-four (24) hours after receiving a new referral.
- Collaborate with clients and foster parents in coordinating a consistent pick-up and drop-off schedule for the child(ren) on the referral.
- Transport children (only) identified on a respective referral from their placement(s) to the session location.
- Remain within the guidelines of the referral at all times, as well as, within the required authorization period.
- Escort staff must walk each client to and from each destination, as well as, stay at the session location while client is at their appointment (unless otherwise directed by the escort supervisor).
- Adhere to the emergency protocol (found in the Employee Manual) in the event that a client or individual associated with the client discloses abuse/neglect information.
- Maintain Public Service Commission (PSC) guidelines; PSC plates, Visinet, Inc. magnets, lease agreements in vehicles.
- Maintain appropriate boundaries and confidentiality with client(s), as well as, with all team members involved on a particular case.
- Adhere to the strict confidentiality policies indicated in the Employee Manual, as well as, all of the other policies and procedures.
- Complete 12 hours of Mandt training
- Complete CPR training or recertification for CPR training.
- Must attend training and certification in de-escalation and restraint techniques.
- Return pages in a timely manner (within three (3) hours for a regular page and within one (1) hour of a 911 page) from 8:00am to 8:00pm Monday-Friday and during regular availability on the weekends.
- Contact your supervisor (during weekdays) or the on-call supervisor (on weekends) in the event of a crisis regarding a client (regardless of the outcome a supervisor is required to be notified).
- Inform the escort supervisor and a location representative of a potential tardiness or canceled session (as indicated by the client or the client?s caretaker).
- Comply with instructions in a timely manner.
- Willingness to accept additional duties take on new cases when asked.
- Be available to conduct sessions at least three (3) weekday evenings and six (6) hours on Saturdays and/or Sundays.
- Responds positively to constructive criticism.
- Professional attitude and attire in the office.
- Maintain an acceptable driving record, reliable vehicle and auto insurance at all times while employed with Visinet, Inc.
- Support and promote other programs within Visinet, Inc. as necessary for clientele served.
- Other duties (not limited to the above) as determined by Visinet, Inc. Administration.
The average starting pay rate for this position is $10.00/hour. Additional compensation may be applicable based upon educational and professional experience. The benefits for this position are outlined in the Employee Manual.
