Definition?
Medicaid Managed Care Escort/Transportation services are offered to eligible participants in order to provide them access to mental health and substance abuse appointments.  

All escort/transportation providers through Visinet, Inc. are certified through the Public Service Commission as well as State certified Family Support Workers (FSW).  Additionally, these providers are trained with MANDT verbal de-escalation and physical intervention training.   

How do I access services?
The Nebraska Health and Human Services (NHHS)/Integrated Care Coordination Unit (ICCU) case manager, therapist, foster parents, biological parents or the client must contact Medicaid Managed Care (Magellan Behavioral Health (MBH)) at 1-800-424-1568 to arrange for the escort/transportation. MBH will require all of the demographic information necessary to complete the request.  

Upon recommending Visinet, Inc. as the requested agency to receive the referral, the request containing this information will be faxed to Visinet, Inc.?s Escort/Transportation Supervisor.

What are the criteria?
The individual(s) requiring the escort/transportation be MBH eligible and less than nineteen (19) years of age.

Payment?
Services can begin once an authorization is sent to the Visinet, Inc. office from MBH containing valid dates of service.
