Community Treatment Aide (CTA)

Job Qualifications

Candidates must have a Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Social Work or a related field and two years of related human service experience. Must be available to work three (3) week nights and six (6) hours on the weekend.  In addition, the candidate must complete Visinet, Inc. Foundation and Program Specific Training.

  • Attend weekly meetings with supervisor to provide case updates, address changes and turn in completed documentation. 
  • Attend team meetings regarding clientele only when requested by the therapist/referral source and approved by Visinet, Inc. supervisor.  
  • Complete 12 hours of Mandt training
  • Complete CPR training or recertification for CPR training.
  • Attend court hearings when subpoenaed.
  • Attend twelve (12) ongoing education/in-service hours per year or one (1) per month if employment begins beyond the start of the calendar year.  
  • Complete service training and show competence in areas identified in the State Regulations (Chapter 32 of the Nebraska Medicaid handbook).
  • Responsible for checking mailbox week.  
  • Provide detailed documentation according to instructions provided in the training.  
  • Complete all documentation within forty-eight (48) hours of conducting the session.  
  • Complete time sheets, provider reporting forms and progress reports for each case and turn in on the respective billing days as indicated in the Employee Manual.  
  • Complete pertinent incident reports and provide to the supervisor within twenty-four (24) hours of the incident.
  • Contact all parties within twenty-four (24) hours after receiving a new referral.
  • Collaborate with client(s) and client placement(s) in coordinating a consistent weekly schedule between child(ren) and caretaker(s) identified on referral.
  • Transport children (only) identified on a respective referral from their placement(s) to the session location.
  • Assist the client/family in obtaining the goals identified by the referral source and illustrated on the treatment plan. 
  • Conduct sessions that integrate activities and interventions consistent with the identified treatment plan and the Axis I diagnosis.
  • Gather necessary information regarding client?s current behavior(s) to develop baseline data.
  • Remain within the guidelines of the referral at all times, as well as, within the required authorization period and number of hours allocated to the client.  
  • Implement and utilize resources during sessions which relate to the identified goals on the treatment plan.  
  • Maintain a strengths-based approach while working with client(s) and families to assist in the retention of dignity and the development of positive intrinsic qualities. 
  • Create a therapeutic milieu within the client?s home environment to promote positive change.
  • Adhere to the emergency protocol (found in the Employee Manual) in the event that a client or individual associated with the client discloses abuse/neglect information.  
  • Maintain appropriate boundaries and confidentiality with client(s) and families, as well as, with all team members involved on a particular case.  
  • Ensure that Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards are maintained throughout the program.  
  • Problem-solve crisis issues in an effective and efficient manner; staff all clinical issues with supervisor immediately upon report of a crisis situation.  
  • Consistently review Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) plan and make sure that all it is being carried out by the employee.  
  • Ensure each client file contains appropriate consents and releases to ensure HIPAA compliance, including Consent to Treatment, Releases of Information, Notice of Privacy Practices, and Client Rights and Responsibilities.
  • Maintain weekly contact with case managers/referral sources (leave a message on their voice mail if s/he is unavailable). 
  • Collaborate with other professionals (team meetings, updates, etc.) to develop a program that meets the specific needs of the client.
  • Return pages in a timely manner (within twelve (12) hours for a regular page and within one (1) hour of a 911 page) from 8:00am to 8:00pm Monday-Friday and during regular availability on the weekends.   
  • Contact your supervisor (from 8-5 M-F) or the on-call supervisor (on weekends/holidays/afterhours) in the event of a crisis regarding a client or individual associated with the client (regardless of the outcome a supervisor is required to be notified). 
  • Communicate PTO requests to assigned supervisor as necessary while ensuring appropriate coverage of all cases.  
  • Strictly adhere to the proper chain of command as illustrated in the EM.  
  • Other communication as asked of by the OSC, Director of Operations or CFO/CEO.          
  • Consult the Director of Operations/COO and/or Clinical Director on all potential liability issues.
  • Cooperation and Attitude
  • Comply with instructions in a timely manner.
  • Display a willingness to accept and a positive attitude when assigned additional duties.  
  • Be available to conduct visits/sessions at least ten hours per week.
  • Respond positively to constructive criticism.
  • Display a professional attitude and clothing attire while in the office, at community meetings, and or while working with clients.
  • Maintain an acceptable driving record, reliable vehicle and auto insurance at all times while employed with Visinet, Inc.
  • Consistently display a positive, strengths-based, culturally competent approach to all Visinet, Inc. staff/referral sources/clients.  
  • Other duties (not limited to the above) as determined by Visinet, Inc. Administration.

The average starting pay rate for this position is $11.50/hour. Additional compensation may be applicable based upon educational and professional experience. The benefits for this position are outlined in the Employee Manual.
