Behavioral Learning Center (BLC) Specialist (This position is only in the Lincoln office at this time)

Job Qualifications

According to the Nebraska Health and Human Services, candidates must have a minimum of two years of college credit in social work or a related field, or have two years of related human service experience. In addition, the candidate must complete Visinet, Inc. Foundation and Program Specific Training.

  • Attend daily staffing with BLC coordinator to review youth progress and discuss any concerns.       
  • Complete daily progress note that will be sent home to guardian regarding youth?s progress with the Behavior Modification Plan.  Document on daily progress note specific activities that youth participated in and how youth handled themselves during this activity.
  • Complete a weekly time management plan and submit to the BLC coordinator upon turning in time logs.  (Any changes in this schedule should be reported to the BLC coordinator). 
  • Sign off daily on medication log sheet whenever medicine is administered to youth while at the BLC.  
  • Follow safety plans for all children.
  • Complete collateral logs for every contact regarding a youth. 
  • Complete incident reports and submit to the BLC coordinator within twenty-four (24) (business) hours after the incident. 
  • Complete payroll timesheets accurately and submit to the BLC coordinator by the requested deadline.
  • Determine, based on the interactions throughout the day, the level of learning a child has achieved on targeted goals and objectives and document accordingly.
  • Assist the youth/guardian in obtaining the identified goals.    
  • Provide planned interventions (i.e. teaching, coaching, practicing, role-playing, affirmation, etc.) based on the BLC individualized behavior modification plan.
  • Maintain a strengths-based approach while working with youth and guardians to assist in the retention of dignity and the development of positive intrinsic qualities.
  • Provide the necessary outcome measures information to the BLC coordinator and Director of Operations.    
  • Adhere to the emergency protocol (found in the Employee Manual) in the event that a client or individual associated with the client discloses abuse/neglect information.  
  • Complete 12 hours of Mandt training
  • Complete CPR training or recertification for CPR training.
  • Maintain appropriate boundaries and confidentiality with client(s) and families, as well as, with all team members involved on a particular case.  
  • Collaborate with other professionals such as therapists, teachers, and probation officers to see that the child's individual needs are being met.  
  • Contact the BLC coordinator in the event of a crisis regarding a client or individual associated with the client (regardless of the outcome the coordinator is required to be notified).    
  • Be available to work at least four (4) weekday evenings and six (6) hours on Saturdays.
  • Maintain an acceptable driving record, reliable vehicle and auto insurance at all times while employed with Visinet, Inc.
  • Support, promote and utilize other programs within Visinet, Inc. as clinically necessary for clientele served.  
  • Other duties (not limited to the above) as determined by Visinet, Inc. Administration.

The average starting hourly wage for this position is $10/hour.  Additional compensation may be applicable based upon educational and professional experience. Full-time employees are eligible for benefits outlined in the Employee Manual.
