BEHAVIORAL HEALTH SERVICES MANAGER
JOB DESCRIPTION
Division: Behavioral Health Services Date: September 16, 2009 FLSA Status: Exempt
Under the guidance of the Behavioral Health Services Director, performs a variety of duties and responsibilities to directly manage, supervise and coordinate all operations of the departments within the Behavioral Health Services Division, assuring fidelity and quality of services provided according to Visinet’s mission, vision and values.
Efficient and effective operation of program performance.

Maintain fidelity with the chosen EBP/PP models.
Maintains the mission of Visinet, working and developing staff to create the best outcomes for families.
Quality of services performed and related documentation of each service component.
Effective communication between CFS specialists, Service Coordinators and other Stakeholders.
Assures target ratios of direct service are met.
Compliance with all contractual and corporate policies and procedures.
Ensures fiscal responsibilities with regards to service delivery and ensures that program is fiscally solvent at all times.
Meets all contractual time lines for service delivery—understands Medicaid, Medicaid Managed Care and other Third Party Insurance Policies and Procedures to ensure that Visinet staff is within contract guidelines.
Assures safety of children through continual use of visual and audible skills.
Adhere to Person/Family Centered practice at all times and assures through weekly supervision of all staff that they, too, are following this integral value of Visinet.
Performs tasks by demonstrating professionalism at all times.
Demonstrates respect and shows dignity to all children/youth and families.
Assures confidentiality of information.
Assures that licensing standards are maintained for staff, clinical director and compliance thereof is maintained at all times.
Assures that all components of intakes are completed and the various authorizations associated with these along with the ongoing CPT codes are sought.
Assures treatment plans, 90-day reviews, goals and objectives and other pertinent documentation is reviewed and approved by clinical director prior to submission of client chart/external requestor.
Includes family and team involvement in the development of the treatment plan/interfaces with Families F.I.R.S.T. staff and/or other relevant team members at the request of the family to uphold One ~ Family ~One Team ~ One Plan.
Complies with all corporate and contract policies and procedures.
Maintains current status for all training related to program and position for self and all staff.
Decision making skills within scope of job performance.
Completion of all documentation as dictated by program within identified time frame.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION AND PERFORMANCE STANDARDS
Prepares, plans and manages all referrals.
Reviews youth and family referral/intake information, making appropriate contacts, and establishes necessary contact with youth and/or family (if needed to make required timelines).
Monitors (through supervision whenever possible with assistance from Clinical Director) child/youth and parent/caregiver interactions to ensure the safety of all family members and the community.
Documents all supervision and necessary incidents related to staff on corporate approved forms and within desired time frames.
Assures that company policies and procedures are followed.
Assists in locating suitable informal supports and the identification of an aftercare plan at the onset of intake.
Staff and assists in the completion of higher level of care applications as needed.
Develops, recommends, implements, monitors and evaluates treatment plans makes changes where applicable.
Maintains on-going contact with supervisor, CFSS and Service Coordinator, other relevant Visinet Division/Department staff and stakeholders
Attends program specific training, and/or meetings as specified by Training and Education Division.
Assists with coverage for other staff in the event of an emergency or other specified need.
Completes all reports in a timely, accurate and efficient manner according to program standards to include drafted court reports.
Attends family meetings or team staffing when requested to do so; assures that staff attends these as well.
Follows emergency protocol in the event of any critical and/or noncritical incidents.
Assists in resolving issues or concerns for the family through provision of clinical and non-clinical services.
Identifies the most efficient and effective way to manage staff, oversee the programs within this department. Continually assesses with Division Director on an ongoing basis.
Performs other tasks as assigned.

Accurate completion of intake documentation, treatment plans, reviews, other ongoing progress notes, and other evaluation/assessment tools and establishing service plan for each family.

Demonstrates appropriate clinical knowledge and skills.
Supervised by: Behavioral Health Services Director
Supervises: All Therapists & CTA's
Internal: Works in harmony with all team members, supervisors, managers and other related personnel.
External: Continual contact with staff, CFS, Service Coordinators, and other stakeholders (e.g., courts, service area administration with juvenile justice, attorneys, foster care review board, CASA, etc.) involved with the child/youth and family.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS AND WORK REQUIREMENTS
Education
Required: Minimum of Master’s degree in human services, counseling or related field.
Required: Licensure as a Mental Health Practitioner in the State of Nebraska (or potential to receive within acceptable time frame).
Experience
Required: Must be at least 21 years of age with a minimum of 3 years experience working with children and families.
Desired: Prefer a minimum of five to seven years experience in a field directly related to children and/or families.
Licenses, Certifications, and/or Registrations: Clear Criminal History Background and Adult/Child Abuse checks, as well as all program specific certifications, NCI, First Aid/CPR, Car Restraint, Defensive Driving, clearance from all background checks and drug screens (Trainings offered by Visinet, Inc.).
Equipment/Tools/Work Aids: Fluent in Microsoft word and able to type and use computer is required.
Specialized Knowledge and Skills: Spanish, Sign Language, etc. beneficial.
Working Conditions:
Varied climates both indoors and outside in homes, neutral locations or related areas.
Varied working hours – typically late afternoon and early evenings and at least one weekend day.
Various other components such as pets, housekeeping skills, etc.
Significant time spent driving between and/or to sessions.
